The TÜRKTOB Delegation, headed by M. Kayhan Yıldırım, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Seed Union (TÜRKTOB), came together with the Presidential Food and Agriculture Policies Board.
In the meeting, which started with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Zümrüt Begüm Ögel, Deputy Chair of the Presidential Food and Agriculture Policies Board, and TÜRKTOB President M. Kayhan Yıldırım; the current situation of the seed sector, policy priorities, and inter-institutional coordination topics were discussed.
A comprehensive presentation was made to the Presidential Delegation regarding the current state and fundamental data of the seed sector, the structure and functioning of TÜRKTOB and its sub-unions, main fields of activity, needs for updating the seed legislation, R&D studies, increasing foreign trade, financing and support mechanisms, the TÜRKTOB Arbitration Board, and the development of cooperation with relevant institutions.
During the meeting, which lasted for about three hours, the questions posed by the members of the Presidential Food and Agriculture Policies Board were answered following the presentation.
Additionally, information was shared and invitations were presented regarding the Asian Seed Congress (ASC 2026), which will be held in Antalya between December 1-5, 2026, in cooperation with the Turkish Seed Union, the Turkish Seed Industry, and The Asia and Pacific Seed Association.
The TÜRKTOB delegation included Board Treasurer Selami Yazar, Arbitration Board Chairman Serdar Mart, Secretary General Dr. Muhteşem Torun, and Presidential Advisor Galip Umut Özdil.
